Lisa James was born and raised in Northern California, and lives with a menagerie of two dogs and four cats. After taking early retirement from her position as a Human Resources Specialist for the U.S. Geographical Survey, she dug out a manuscript she’d written several years earlier, polished it up, and sent it off, resulting in a contract with an epublisher, Uncial Press. Her ebook, Ballantyne’s Battle, is now available on Amazon. She is currently (Spring 2018) working on requested edits from her second novel, Have Mercy, also contracted with Uncial Press. She will submit her third novel, Harper’s Chance, once the edits on the second are done, in the hope that a contract will result from that one too. She is very active in cat and kitten fostering for a local rescue group and has started writing a book on being an Honest-To-Goodness Cat Lady. She has also taken up English horseback riding lessons again and hopes to once again own her own horse. When not writing and riding, her time is filled with hiking, cross training, yoga, doing crosswords, and, of course, reading.
