Elaine Adams joined the California Writers Club in 1982 when KCRA televised the miniseries, “King of the Olympics: The Lives and Loves of Avery Brundage,” adapted from the biography she wrote. She received the Sacramento Advertising Club Award for excellence in public service advertising for video presentation, “Behind Closed Doors,” for Women Escaping a Violent Environment (WEAVE). Elaine also authored The Healing House: A Memoir, of homesteaded Swedish-built farmhouse at Hayden Lake, Idaho. The house is listed in National Register of Historic Places. Elaine also wrote for El Dorado Hills “Hilltop News” and Folsom Telegraph. She scripted one of Sacramento’s first TV commercials in the early 1950s.
